CybageKhushboo signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Teach For India’s alumni initiative, iTeach, at the Cybage headquarters, Pune, on May 15.
This three-year association will be in the form of a private-public partnership to adopt Pune Municipal Corporation’s Sant Gadge Maharaj School, Kondhwa—a move that is expected to benefit 175 students from eighth to tenth standard. CybageKhushboo also donated Rs. 32,33,332 for the forthcoming academic year. This donation will be utilized for setting up infrastructure in the classrooms including computer labs and for teachers’ salaries and other running expenses of the school. PMC, on its part, has already given the requisite permissions. The new academic session will begin on June 8, 2015. Cybagians were also encouraged to get involved in the volunteering activities at the beneficiary school.
The event also included a question-answer round wherein Cybagians enquired how they could participate in activities by Teach for India.
The noble aim that’s powering this alliance is to ensure that these economically and socially backward students get a chance to complete their matriculation and fulfill their career aspirations.
Earlier this year i.e. 2016, CybageKhushboo signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with iTeach and donated Rs. 52 lakh to facilitate higher education for school students. This initiative will provide operational benefits to the Kondhwa-based school, which offers free education to needy students. For the academic year 2016-17, the number of beneficiaries will be the 250 students from classes eight, nine and ten.
