13/09/2015:

The second phase of scholarship distribution by CybageKhushboo for 2015-16 was carried out on September 13. A total of 33 beneficiaries received scholarships with volunteers giving away cheques worth nearly Rs. 11 Lakhs.

The event began with Mrs. Ritu Nathani, Managing Trustee, CybageKhushboo, making students familiar with the rules pertaining to the scholarships.

Two of the beneficiaries who have found placement shared their experiences. Aniket Adake, who is working with Barclays, said he comes from a family of farmers. He is now the breadwinner and is able to support his two young brothers.

Tasleem Sayyad, who found placement with HSBC, said her father is an autorickshaw driver and with the new job, she can support her family and her sibling’s education.

Dr. Y. P. Nerkar, Principal, PVG’s College of Engineering and Technology, thanked CybageKhushboo for its support. He recollected how the college, which was founded about a century ago, had aims similar to CybageKhushboo. He said ex-students keep the college going and he hoped that the same holds true for CybageKhushboo.

Dr. Vijayalakshmi Nambiar, Principal, MUCC, thanked CybageKhushboo for associating with the college for the last six years and helping needy students.

Grateful parents such as the father of Rushikesh Patil quoted the Kabir doha ‘jyot se jyot jagaate chalo’ to express how CybageKhushboo is keeping the flame of education alive.

Harshal Deshpande’s father said that his son’s career will soar with CybageKhushboo’s help and eventually, he’ll be known as his son’s father and not the other way round.

Ritu concluded the event with a story to explain how the students need to rise above their difficulties and make a mark in their chosen fields.
